update

- Kirsten created a logo to be used on advertisements and as our trademark. She also created an advertisement that would be sent to local elementary schools to help build up hype about our product

- Josh created an advertisement to pass out at local teacher supply stores. He attached a survey that would be passed out along with the advertisement to determine if we would have a following for our product

- Josh visited kinkos and determined how much it would cost to have our product professionally made

- In the future we would like to upgrade our blog to a professional website complete with an order form for our product

Final Project

As labeled in the picture, this is a Food Pyramid that was made to help elementary school teachers teach their kids about nutrition. The individual foods are attached with velcro so that they can be taken off and kids can try to figure out where they are supposed to go.

The individual food items from above can then be combined to make different healthy meals. For example, the first one is a Green Slime smoothie. Yogurt, from the milk group, and apple, from the fruit group, can be combined to make this smoothie. Recipes will be included with each meal so that kids can take them home to their parents and make the meals.

Healthy Meal Creator

Here is a quick draw up of a project that AJK is currently working on. The idea behind it is to help kids learn about the food pyramid and where food items belong on it. It is a project that we are marketing towards elementary school teachers to use for teaching kids about nutrition. On one poster board will be the food pyramid, like above in the drawing, and on it will be different food items attached by velcro. Food items can be removed so kids can take them down and try to figure out where they go. In addition, information will be available describing how each food item contributes to a healthy diet. Those same food items can then be placed on a second poster board (the right side of the drawing) where they can create healthy meals. The meal that can be made will already be on hte board but kids will have to put together different food items to make that meal (also attached by velcro). there will be recipes included for kids to take home to their parents to make that meal. We are still in the beginning stages of planning but will continue updating.
